Le pas typique du kathakali est tres singulier: dresse sur la tranche exterieure de ses pieds, jambes arquees, demarche etrangement raide, le danseur fait sonner les grelots qu'il porte aux chevilles ou aux genoux. Souvent il bondit, tourne sur lui-meme, fait tournoyer robe et cheveux.

The typical kathakali step is very striking: standing on the external edge of his feet, his legs arched, his walk strangely stiff, the dancer makes the bells he is wearing to his knees or ankles ring. He often leaps up, turns on himself, make his dress and hair whirl.
But the real thrill is when several gods are fighting: then the stage is filled up with twirling colors, frenetic bells's sounds, feet hammering the ground, drumbeats in a transe...
